Ode to it being suddenly summer
When a girl is searching for the perfect summer attire, her ruminations often arrive back at that particularly summer staple, the maxi dress. There’s just something about it – you can’t go past the perfect maxi when you spy it for sale, even if you know in your heart of hearts there might be one – two if you’re lucky – PERFECT summer occasion upon which it will be appropriate. But it lives on as an object of lust and fantasy and summer perfection.
Recently, midi lengths have, to a certain extent, taken over in the style stakes: and today, Miss Bee’s take on the summer maxi was a little bit midi.
Miss Bee says:
The emerald grass, the blue sky, and the warmth of the sun on my shoulders here at Grandma and Granddad’s today cried out for this dress. The flowers on it nod respectfully to the fertility blooming all around me; its pinafore straps tell the world I’m playful at heart. The length of this dress tells my admirers I’m a woman – but it’s not too long for a bit of rough and tumble either!
PS: speaking of admirers, an outfit likes this lets me keep them guessing: do I have a nappy on under there or not, do you reckon? *wink*
